Bagged household rubbish
Count the sacks and explain what is inside. Small bags of rubble are very different from bags of light household clutter.

SCRAPPA™ · WASTE MANAGEMENT · BOLTON
A few bags by the back door can quickly become a bigger job when you add the unwanted chair, cupboard contents and boxes in the garage. Scrappa™ helps you arrange rubbish removal in Bolton around the whole load, with the collection details agreed before you book.

Look behind doors, under shelving and in any outside storage before selecting a load. A photograph taken from one angle can hide half the rubbish. Give bag counts alongside an overall description and say whether there are separate piles at the front and rear. This helps avoid booking space for only the most visible part of the job.
Books, crockery, wet textiles and DIY offcuts can make a modest-looking pile surprisingly heavy. Keep soil, bricks and rubble separate from ordinary household rubbish when describing it. Do not select a light mixed load for dense building materials simply because everything fits into similar sacks. Ask for advice when contents are unknown.
Tell us whether the rubbish is inside, in a cellar, upstairs or behind a locked gate. Include the approximate distance from the pile to a safe loading position. For a terrace, a rear alley may be useful only if the collection vehicle can lawfully reach it; do not assume an alley entrance is a parking space.
Use sound bags that can be handled without splitting, and avoid filling them beyond a manageable weight. Keep sharp, leaking or unidentified materials out of ordinary sacks and flag them before booking. You do not need to disguise an awkward item to make a collection simpler; a clear description is much more useful.
A fridge beside ten bags is not simply another bag of mixed rubbish. Name appliances and upholstered seating individually, including quantities and size. If furniture needs taking apart, request that work in advance. Disconnection, building work and removal of fixed fittings should not be assumed to be part of a rubbish collection.
If a neighbour must unlock a shared gate or a caretaker controls the lift, arrange that before selecting your slot. Keep exits and communal routes clear, and leave rubbish within your property unless another arrangement has been agreed. Tell us about any handover deadline so availability can be checked against the real requirement.
Review the final load once more before the visit. If another room has been cleared or builders have added debris, contact Scrappa before the team arrives. Extra materials may need a revised collection arrangement. Accurate details protect the booked scope and help the team arrive prepared for the work actually waiting.
A location name is only the start of planning a collection. Around Bolton town centre and the Queen’s Park area, explain which entrance serves your property and where loading may be possible. For properties off Chorley New Road or near Queen’s Park, give the full address and actual loading entrance, particularly where a rear gate is on a different street.
For a flat, include the floor, lift size, caretaker arrangements and any booked loading window. For a house, describe side gates, rear yards, steps and separate storage areas. Never reserve a public loading position by obstructing the highway. Availability and the collection plan are checked using your actual address and declared load.
Homeowners, tenants, landlords and business contacts can use the service for an agreed collection. If you are arranging access for someone else, make sure you have authority to remove the items and a reliable contact for the day.
A loaded collection can suit a one-off clearance when you want an agreed load carried away in a visit. A skip may suit work producing waste over several days, provided you can load it and arrange suitable placement. Compare the actual material, access, labour and timing rather than assuming one option is always cheaper.
For eligible household items, Bolton Council also has a bulky collection service with its own conditions. Check those directly when comparing options. Scrappa collections are booked against the items and access you declare; specialist or restricted materials need agreement before booking. Do not mix unknown chemicals or suspected asbestos into an ordinary load.
Include both in the booking. Name the sofa, give the number of bags and describe their contents so the full mixed collection can be assessed.
An honest item list, approximate pile dimensions and clear photographs can help clarify the load. Ask before booking if you are uncertain about the right option.
Tell us about gates, steps, carrying distance and loading access. Collection arrangements depend on the route and declared work.
No. Declare soil, rubble, books and other dense contents so weight and handling can be considered.
Keep it within your property and avoid obstructing public or shared routes. Agree any unusual collection position beforehand.
No. Check available slots and obtain confirmation before relying on collection that day.
Enter the items, quantities, access, extras and collection choices. Review the resulting breakdown before confirming; contact Scrappa if you cannot accurately describe part of the job.
A Waste Transfer Note is provided after completion. Keep it with your collection record.
The collection is assessed from the actual materials, amount and work required. Light packaging, wet carpet and bags of broken tiles can occupy a similar space but have very different handling and disposal requirements. Name the materials, estimate quantities and add any furniture or electrical items individually. The price breakdown is shown after the booking details and collection choices have been entered.
For example, if the job consists of twelve household bags, a small cabinet and an old fridge, describe all three parts. Do not select only the bagged pile and leave the fridge out of the request. Tell us if bags are already outside or need carrying from an upstairs room, and whether a long side passage separates them from the loading position. Those details allow a more useful assessment than a photograph alone.
A change of scope should be discussed before the collection. More waste, extra dismantling or different access can affect the work and price. Contact Scrappa with the updated details rather than assuming the original booking covers additions. Keep any agreed confirmation alongside your booking record.
Start with your collection address, describe the whole job and check the available options. If anything is unusual, contact Scrappa before confirming so the collection can be arranged around it.
