The right item identified
A compact fridge, an American-style fridge-freezer and an integrated unit need different descriptions. Tell us exactly what is going.

SCRAPPA · BLACKPOOL
Replace the appliance without keeping the old one in the way. Arrange collection of unwanted fridges, freezers, washing machines and other household appliances, with preparation, access and the full price checked before you book.
Start your appliance collection quoteA compact fridge, an American-style fridge-freezer and an integrated unit need different descriptions. Tell us exactly what is going.
Explain whether the appliance is disconnected, freestanding and ready to move. Collection does not automatically include plumbing, electrical or gas work.
State the room, floor, steps and doorway restrictions. Include the distance from the appliance to the vehicle’s lawful loading position.
Add every appliance and relevant extra, then check the breakdown and collection options before confirming.
State whether it is an under-counter, tall, chest or American-style unit. Give approximate dimensions and mention water connections or built-in cabinetry.
Identify each machine separately, including stacked or integrated appliances. Tell us whether it is already safely disconnected and free of surrounding fittings.
Give the type and size. Gas appliances need a suitably qualified Gas Safe registered engineer for gas disconnection; hardwired units need appropriate electrical preparation.
Describe smaller appliances and their quantities before adding them. Commercial refrigeration and unusually large equipment require separate assessment.

STEP 1
Start with the Blackpool collection address and contact information.

STEP 2
List the type, size and quantity rather than an unspecified group of white goods.

STEP 3
Include disconnection status, integrated fittings, stairs, lifts and the carrying route.

STEP 4
Provide the remaining information and choose from available dates and time windows.

STEP 5
Check all items, access and any agreed extra work before confirming the booking.
A retailer delivering a new appliance may offer its own take-back service. Confirm whether that is included before making a separate collection booking. If you use Scrappa, the quoted job needs to identify the old appliance and where it will be waiting; do not assume your replacement delivery window is also your collection window.
Collection is the removal of the agreed item, not an automatic installation or repair service. Arrange safe disconnection before collection unless specific preparation work has been agreed. A gas connection needs a Gas Safe registered engineer qualified for that work. A hardwired electrical connection needs an appropriate competent electrician. Explain water connections, fixed cabinetry and other fittings before booking.
Remove food, clothing, dishes and other contents. Prepare a fridge or freezer in accordance with its manufacturer’s instructions and allow time for safe defrosting where needed. Arrange suitable handling of residual water in washing machines or dishwashers. Do not cut refrigerant pipes or remove components to make an appliance easier to lift.
An appliance behind a kitchen door may still be fixed into the units around it. Mention this before booking and explain whether it has already been released. Give the dimensions of unusually tall or wide appliances and describe any steps or narrow turns. Removing built-in cabinetry or altering plumbing is different work from collecting a disconnected freestanding machine.
For a town-centre flat, identify the correct entrance and check whether a suitable lift can be used. At a Layton or Marton house, describe steps, a rear gate or a long path to the street. Properties around Whitegate Drive or Preston New Road still need address-specific loading details; naming the road does not confirm a vehicle can stop outside.
Clear small obstacles and arrange keys or a building contact. Keep shared corridors and emergency exits open. Tell us where the appliance is rather than moving a heavy machine yourself if that would be unsafe. If building management requires a reserved loading bay or lift slot, arrange it before the booked visit.
An extra freezer, a move to an upper floor or a machine still fixed into cabinetry can change the work required. Tell Scrappa before collection and ask for the scope or quote to be reviewed. Check the final item list and collection details against the appliances actually waiting.
Arrange removal of an old machine as part of a kitchen or utility-room update. Keep its details separate from the new appliance delivery.
Identify appliances authorised for disposal and arrange access with the tenant, agent or keyholder. Declare integrated or connected units.
Give the floor, lift dimensions and building access arrangements. Explain any restrictions on moving bulky items through communal areas.
List the domestic appliances being replaced and explain the service entrance and staff contact. Commercial equipment needs separate confirmation.
Collections can involve a utility room in Marton, an upper-floor flat near the town centre or an appliance reached through a side passage in Layton. Provide the exact entrance, the machine’s current position and the nearest lawful loading place. Stanley Park and Blackpool Tower can help describe the area, but they do not replace a full address or create a local arrival-time guarantee.
Area examples: Layton, Marton, town centre and Stanley Park area. Postcode districts: FY1, FY2, FY3 and FY4. Enter the exact postcode to check the collection address.
When buying a replacement, check whether the retailer offers removal and what preparation or access conditions apply. Confirm the old item will actually be accepted.
Useful when the appliance is unwanted independently of a new delivery. Declare the item, preparation and route and review the collection quote.
Do not assume a skip accepts refrigeration or electrical items. Check the provider’s rules and handling arrangements before adding appliances to any mixed load.
List both appliances with their types and quantities. Their disposal and access requirements can differ, so each should appear in the collection details and final quote.
Do not assume gas work is included. Arrange a Gas Safe registered engineer qualified for the work to disconnect and make the appliance safe before collection.
Arrange appropriate electrical disconnection and tell us whether it has been released from its housing. A collection booking does not automatically include electrical work or kitchen alterations.
Provide its dimensions, condition and route out, including narrow doors, stairs and water connections. Oversized units need assessment; do not book one as an ordinary small fridge.
State where it is now and agree the removal route. Do not obstruct a pavement or shared hallway, and do not move a heavy machine yourself if it is unsafe to do so.
No blanket recovery percentage is promised. The item type, condition and treatment route determine what happens next. Declare refrigeration units and other appliances accurately so appropriate handling can be arranged.
Start with your Blackpool postcode, add every appliance and explain its preparation and access. Review the full price and available collection options before confirming.
